Spanish Writing Prompt - La Música - Music - Students describe the music that they like and explain why. This high interest writing prompt provides enough vocabulary and phrases for beginners, and it works for more advanced students by adjusting the word requirement. It contains over 40 words and phrases to assist students with the writing task. The 3 page download includes: 1. These readers are fun end of the year and summer school activities! Each of the 2 booklets contains 16 pages: the title page with 15 additional pages. One contains text and images, and the other contains text only so students can sketch and create their own versions of the booklets. Also included are suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page.
Students first cut, assemble and read the booklet containing text and images. Words included are umbrella, sailboat, pail and shovel, shell, beach, ice cream, beachball, sunglasses, towel, tanning lotion, fish, sand castle, sun, waves, and crab. They then sketch and create their own versions with the text only template.
The illustration version can be projected in class to present, review and practice pronunciation of the vocabulary words. The text only version can be projected onto the Smart Board and students can draw pictures on the Smart Board that correspond to the text.

Spanish Introductions Dialogue Writing Prompt, Translation, and Skit - This download includes: 1. Introductions dialogue writing prompt. The writing prompt contains requirements for greetings and leave takings, asking who another person is and response, formal and informal introductions, and asking and providing age. Spanish Direct Object Pronouns and Food Chant and Student Activity - This download includes the following: 1. Chant - 28 lines with a clip art image illustrating each of the 14 food words. 2. Chant without the Spanish food word so students have to say it from memory and looking at the clip art. 3. Chant with Spanish and English food words and the direct object pronouns missing so students must figure out what goes in the blanks. 4. Student activity chant template so students can add their own food words and direct object pronouns and create their own versions of the chant. This fun chant contains 14 different food words, direct object pronouns lo, la, los, and las, me gustaria, lo siento, the verb ver, the command pasame, and 14 different names of girls and boys. Sample food words included are jugo, pudin, tostada, camarones, and postre. The first line of each stanza is a person asking another to pass a food. The response on the second line substitutes a direct object pronoun for the food word. The repetitive nature and cadence help students learn the vocabulary quickly. Once they do, they enjoy seeing how quickly they can say the chant!
This activity uses common Spanish verbs associated with boyfriends and girlfriends, and their behaviors and interests. Sample verbs are jugar, tener, tomar riesgos, saber + infinitive, hacer planes, hablar, ser, ir, and tocar. Students will practice 3 forms of each verb in the present tense for asking, responding, and the follow-up written activity. Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes when asked about statements in each of the 16 boxes. A sample statement is, "Pienso que un novio debe hablar conmigo todos los dias." When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. The goal is to be the first student to fill the entire bingo grid. Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verbs to the third person. 2. Write an appropriate Spanish infinitive verb under 6 images at the bottom of the paper.
Adjectives Mirror Sketch Activity in English - Students sketch their self portraits in one mirror and then write adjectives used to describe themselves in the other. Uses and ideas for this activity: 1. This is a great practice activity when descriptive adjectives are introduced. 2. Use as a back to school review of descriptive adjectives. 3. This is a fun speaking activity when students present their completed sketches to their classmates. 4. Use at the beginning of the year and the end of the year to see how students progress throughout the year. 5. Decorate the hall or a bulletin with these colorful, personalized student creations. Students label the holiday elf with 17 body parts and clothing words. This is a fun holiday activity that can be used for language arts, or any second language class.

Spanish Body Parts Plurals Que Te Duelen? - Me Duelen Emergent Reader Booklets - Students first cut, assemble and read the booklet that contains text and illustrations of several different plural body parts in pain such as eyes, nostrils, toes, fingers, ears, etc. They then create their own version using the text only template. The title page asks Que te duelen? and each subsequent page responds with Me duelen plus plural body parts. Each booklet contains 12 pages: the title page with 11 additional pages. Suggestions for using the booklets and an assembly instruction page are also included.
